Beaches??? Sure, I'm there!

Last year before Christmas I went with my boyfriend and his family on a 5 day trip to Cancun. On this trip we spent most of our time on the beach laying out. The place we stayed was really pretty and had very nice workers. On the third day of the trip we went on an excursion to go snorkeling and I saw a string ray as well as many different fish. We took a hike through the 'woods' and then rode inter-tubes down the river. The river wasn't moving very fast so we had to paddle a lot. We were coming around the corner of the river and we saw people were jumping off a cliff so Tena, my boyfriend's mom, and I went and done it.

My boyfriend ended up surprising me with swimming with the dolphins for my Christmas gift. LOVED IT!
This trip was the first time I had flown anywhere and I loved it. I can't wait to go back someday!

Across the Ocean

In January I went on a cruise to Jamaica and Cayman Islands. This was quite an experience. About 20 of us students loaded up and set sail on Carnival Destiny!

Our cruise was a 5 day cruise. We didn't have great weather which put a damper on the cruise all together but it still was a good time. Our first stop was Jamaica. We were here for 8 hours and it was the nicest day of the cruise. We went on an excursion to Dunn's River Falls which was amazing. When it said climbing a waterfall I thought it meant along a waterfall but we actually climbed up through it. This was my favorite part of the trip.

In Jamaica we walked around some and just when we got there these ladies grabbed my friends and I and wanted to braid our hair. After telling them no a few times we gave in and let them do a couple braids in each of our hair. They wanted 15 dollars for each of them but they only got $5 out of us.

Entering the Caymen Islands was fun as well. We had to get onto a small boat which took us to shore. Since we hadn't planed any excursions, which was good because a lot of them got canceled due to the weather, we just visited some "social" places. We went into Senor Frogs and it was blast. Workers were just dancing around and playing games to get everyone involved.

I'm so glad I had this experience and hope to have other stories to tell later.

Job Searching

It comes time now for me to start job searching. OOOOO WHAT FUN! :) I really want to have a job lined out before I graduate in May. I have been searching and applying for jobs this semester. I really hope I have some interviews lined out for spring break.

I found it really hard to start my job search. My major is IDM -CS but I really enjoy social media and a lot of jobs I have found want an advertising, marketing, or public relation majors. I have added a section for related courses to my resume to prove I have had experience within these majors.

I had a job interview tonight for a job this semester at the St. Joe Center. I would be working with with teachers updating their ecompanion site as well as other task. Praying for a second interview!! :)

I have used Monster, CareerBuilder, LinkedIn job search as well as other places searching jobs.
